1. intro

In October 2008, I left Scotland to tour Europe in my campervan with my dog. We visited 21 countries (not many dogs can say that), and in that period covering 2.5 years, there were massive advancements in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Social Media.

I had the time and the interest to not only learn & master each element, but I wanted to DOMINATE!!

What are Google looking for?

Google are essentially looking to give their client the best possible results based on search phrase.

The basics of SEO have never changed, in that Google considers two main elements;
1. Authority
2. Relevance

So in order to return the most relevant results to their browsers, they have created a complex and ever-changing algorithm.

I’m sure that you are very aware, that there are now many very competitive sectors, and many of your competitors may have a very active SEO and Social Media strategy, which is exactly what Google wants to see in order to confirm that you are actively seeking social engagement and still very much operating a valid business, which will be reflected in the keywords that are being searched for.

So to achieve this, we need to take a multi-pronged approach including articles, images, video, backlinks, reviews & regular updates of the website (blog posts).
Additional Factors

In addition; Google are also now considering the amount of time a person stays on your site (bounce rate), and the level of Social engagement.

This means that if you are serious about being found naturally in the search engines results in 2015, then your website has to be shown to be actively managed.
